Privacy Policy – Genesis

Genesis ("the App") is a voice-based productivity assistant that helps users create tasks, schedule calendar events, and prepare messages. Some features use third-party speech and AI services to transcribe and process user commands.

1. Information We Collect

The App may collect and process the following categories of information:

Email address (for account creation and authentication)
Voice recordings (only when the user activates voice input)
Voice transcripts (speech-to-text results)
Text commands entered by the user
Task, calendar, and message content created by the user
Device information (such as device type and operating system version)
Diagnostic and crash data

2. How Information Is Collected

Information is collected when users:

Create an account or sign in
Use voice input
Enter text commands
Create tasks, events, or message drafts
Interact with the App’s features

3. Use of Speech and AI Processing Services

To provide voice-based functionality and AI-powered responses, the App may transmit certain user data to third-party processing services. These services are used only to process user requests and generate outputs requested by the user.

Voice Processing Flow:

When a user submits a voice command, the voice recording is securely transmitted to ElevenLabs for speech-to-text transcription.
The resulting transcript (and related command text/context) is then securely transmitted to OpenAI for language processing (for example: summarization and suggested actions).

Important: ElevenLabs and OpenAI act solely as data processors. They do not perform actions on behalf of the user. Any actions (such as creating tasks, scheduling events, or preparing messages) are performed only inside the App and are initiated by the user.

The data transmitted to these services may include:

Voice recordings (when voice input is used)
Voice transcripts
Text commands entered by the user
Relevant task, calendar, or message context necessary to generate a response requested by the user

This data is transmitted securely and used solely to provide the requested functionality. The App does not sell, rent, or share personal data for advertising purposes.

4. User Consent

The App requests user permission before accessing the microphone. The App also requests user permission before transmitting data to third-party speech and AI services. Speech/AI processing occurs only after the user actively submits a voice or text command and provides consent. Users may choose not to use voice or AI features at any time.

5. Third-Party Services

The App uses trusted third-party service providers including:

ElevenLabs (speech-to-text transcription)
OpenAI (language processing, such as summarization and response generation)
Firebase Authentication / Google Cloud (infrastructure and authentication)
Sign in with Apple (authentication)

These providers are required to maintain data protection and security standards equal to or greater than those described in this policy.

6. Data Retention

Voice recordings may be processed temporarily for transcription purposes. Account-related data is retained as long as the user account remains active.

7. Account Deletion

Users may permanently delete their account at any time from within the App settings. When an account is deleted, the user account and associated personal data are removed from our systems, unless retention is required by law.

8. Data Security

Genesis implements reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect user information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.

9. User Rights

Users may request access, correction, or deletion of their personal data.

10. Children

Genesis is not intended for children under 13 years of age.
